First foals by G1 winner Bodemeister creating a buzz

Foals from the first crop of Grade 1 winner Bodemeister have started to arrive, and early reports have been excellent across the board from breeders.

This week, Dromoland Farm’s Gerry Dilger had one of Bodemeister’s first foals out of his mare Above Perfection, the dam of the brilliant Grade 1-winning filly Hot Dixie Chick. Dilger called WinStar President & CEO Elliott Walden to express his satisfaction over the newborn colt, and he left this message.

Some of “Bode’s Babies” have also arrived at WinStar, including the recent birth of a colt out of Grade 1 winner Awesome Humor. The foal has created quite a bit of buzz around the farm.

“He’s the best foal Awesome Humor has ever had, and she’s had some really nice foals,” said Walden. “We’ve seen a good sample size of Bodemeister foals around town, and every single one of them is a cracker. We have a ton of confidence in the stallion for many obvious reasons, but when you see it validated like this it really gets you excited about his potential.”

Bodemeister bred 173 mares in his first book in 2014, and the brilliant Grade 1-winning son of Empire Maker is currently standing his second season for a fee of $30,000 S&N at WinStar.
