WinStar Farm's top 3-year-old Gemologist, winner of the Grade 1 Wood Memorial, has returned to trainer Todd Pletcher's primary stable at Belmont Park to prepare for a return to the races.

Winner of five of six lifetime starts, Gemologist has recovered well from a bruised foot suffered in the Kentucky Derby on May 5. He received a week off at the farm in Versailles before entering some light training at the WinStar Farm training track.

On top of his Wood Memorial triumph, Gemologist was an undefeated 2-year-old, including a season-ending win in the Grade 2 Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes at Churchill Downs. Hailing from the Mr. Prospector mare Crystal Shard, the grand-looking bay colt currently holds career earnings of $784,855.
