Rhetorical, bred and prepped for racing by WinStar Farm, dueled his way to a half-length victory in the feature race on the Feb. 28 card at Oaklawn Park. The 4-year-old is by multiple graded stakes winner and millionaire Any Given Saturday, who WinStar also owned throughout his racing career.
In the six furlong contest for second-level allowance horses, Rhetorical battled the entire distance with Lake Victor before besting his foe in stirring fashion in the final strides. The chestnut Kentucky bred got the distance in 1:11.04.
Rhetorical is out of the Deputy Minister mare Glimmer, who has also produced 2010 Fitz Dixon Memorial Juvenile S. winner Glint.
