WinStar juveniles 1-2 in Hoover S.

Candy Exchange and Awaken completed the exacta in the $75,000 Hoover S. July 8 at Belterra Park. Both of the 2-year-old colts are owned and bred by WinStar Farm and Blazing Meadows Farm, with Capehart Equine also part of the ownership on Candy Exchange.

Candy Exchange, a son of Sidney’s Candy, broke his maiden by nine lengths in his debut June 23 at Thistledown, and was a front-running winner once again on Saturday. The chestnut colt bested his stablemate by an even three lengths, while Awaken was a clear runner-up, finishing 6 3/4-lengths in front of the third-place finisher (VIDEO).

Awesome Eve, dam of Candy Exchange, has three foals to race, and all three have now won stakes as 2-year-olds.

Both Candy Exchange and Awaken are trained by Tim Hamm.
