Speightster filly rolls to six-length maiden special weight win at Woodbine

Dreaming of Drew pulled away from the field very impressively in the final furlong to win a $76,036 maiden special weight race for 2-year-old fillies by six lengths Saturday afternoon at Woodbine.

The chestnut filly is the third winner from Speightster’s first crop, making the WinStar stallion one of only three freshman sires to account for three winners to date and the leader by progeny earnings.

Dreaming of Drew followed Carpe Horseshoe through three furlongs, then quickly inhaled the pacesetter and easily distanced herself from the field while completing the 5 1/2-furlongs on the Tapeta in a very respectable 1:03.58.

The winner is owned by Hoolie Racing Stable, LLC and was bred by WinStar. Dreaming of Drew’s dam Dreaming of Liz won the Arlington-Washington Lassie S. (G3) and two other stakes, and her second dam Silver Maiden accounted for the same race as well as the Frizette S. (G1).
