$300,000 colt tops exceptional Saturday at Keeneland for Fed Biz

Fed Biz had his top-priced yearling at auction this year on Saturday at Keeneland when a colt by the WinStar stallion went for $300,000 to Mike Ryan, agent.

Through Saturday, Fed Biz’s yearling sales average of $126,176 is more than 12 times his stud fee and ranks fifth among all First-Crop sires.

The $300,000 colt, hip No. 1301, was consigned by Hunter Valley Farm, agent. He is the first foal out of Lawless Miss, a half-sister to the stakes-placed Unbridled Tale and from the same family as millionaire Lottsa Talc.

Fed Biz also had his top filly of the year on Saturday with hip No. 1515, consigned by Gainesway and purchased for $225,000 by Jay Em Ess Stable. The filly is out of the graded stakes-placed mare You Asked.

Fed Biz has 34 lots remaining in the sale, which runs through Sept. 23.
