Pioneerof the Nile’s top result thus far at the Keeneland September sale came on Wednesday when a colt by the WinStar stallion sold for $925,000, one of the top-five colts during the session.
Warrendale Sales, agent consigned the colt, hip No. 529, which went to M. V. Magnier and Stonestreet Stables. Out of My Tina, the colt is a full brother to 2016’s top turf male Midnight Storm, winner of this year’s Shoemaker Mile (G1) and Del Mar Mile H. (G2).
With 14 lots sold through the first three days of the sale, Pioneerof the Nile’s average price stands at $358,571. He has an additional 37 yearlings cataloged remaining in the auction, which runs through September 25.
