Bellamy Road colt graduates at Del Mar

Hurry Home Clover was a smart looking 1 1/4-length winner in a Del Mar maiden 2-year-old race on Sept. 3, getting the mile in a solid 1:37.50 over the artificial surface. This was the first start around two turn for the bay son of WinStar stallion Bellamy Road.

Out front right from the start, Hurry Home Clover was pressed through the opening half mile, then opened up a four length lead in the stretch before being geared down late by Garrett Gomez.

Hurry Home Clover was bred in Kentucky by Ben Walden, Jr. and is owned by Gary and Cecil Barber and Dan Northrop.

Bellamy Road ranks fourth on the 2011 second-crop sire list, with $2,079,711 progeny earnings to date. His five stakes winners, led by Grade 1 Wood Memorial winner Toby’s Corner, puts him third on the same list.
