Alum graduated at first asking Thursday afternoon with a dominating 5 1/2-length maiden special weight score at Gulfstream Park for the 2-year-old Bodemeister colt trained by Todd Pletcher.
Alum is out of P. S. U. Grad, who was herself a stakes winner at two, and placed in a half-dozen other black type events in her career. She is owned by Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners, who paid $140,000 for the Kentucky-bred colt at the 2015 Fasig-Tipton Kentucky Yearling sale.
Bodemeister, a top-five Freshman Sire of 2016, now has 10 winners this year. He will stand the 2017 season at WinStar Farm for $25,000 live foal, stands and nurses.
