Drosselmeyer juvenile brings $140,000 at OBS

After working a spectacular quarter in :21.1 on April 13th, a colt from the first crop by Drosselmeyer sold for $140,000 on April 21st, opening day of the OBS Spring Sale.

A May foal out of a European stakes winner, Hip 148 posted an eye-catching work on April 13th, striding into the turn with authority, and appearing to relish the opportunity to run. The striking chestnut is a half brother to two stakes winners and to the dam of multiple Graded stakes performer Artigiano, by Distorted Humor. His second dam is Champion It’s In the Air.

Hip 148 was bred in Kentucky by Tinnakill Bloodstock-Ire and Patrick Hayes, and consigned to OBS by Woodford Thoroughbreds. Alex and JoAnn Lieblong signed the ticket.

Drosselmeyer is the all-time leading money winner by Distorted Humor. He is standing the 2015 season at WinStar for $15,000 Live Foal.
