Exaggerator filly zips to half-dozen length MdSpWt victory

Top-five Second-Crop sire Exaggerator got his 10th winner of the year Friday at Fair Grounds when Shades of Truth was an easy winner in a six-furlong maiden special weight affair for 3-year-old fillies.

The chestnut filly’s final margin was officially 5 3/4-lengths. After battling for the lead through the first quarter-mile, Shades of Truth soon took command going into the turn. She asserted herself entering the stretch and drew off convincingly to finish the six furlongs in 1:11.18 on a fast main track (VIDEO).

The winner is owned by Maggie Moss and was bred by Coteau Grove Farms. She is the second foal out of Touch Magic, who won the Silverbulletday S. over this same racetrack in 2010.

Exaggerator leads the Second-Crop sire list by winners, and is in the top five by wins and progeny earnings. His largest crops to date are 2- and 3-year-olds of 2021.
