Fifth Risk marks fifth winner for Outwork

Outwork got his third winner of the week and fifth overall from his first crop on Sunday at Saratoga when the filly Fifth Risk bested Jade Empress by a half-length in a six-furlong maiden special weight race on the main track.

Outwork has made a big impact on the First-Crop sire list, currently ranked second by winners and third by progeny earnings.

Fifth Risk prompted the pace set by Baba early on, then when that one gave way, outdueled Jade Empress to claim the victory in 1:12.36 on a fast track.

Fifth Risk was a $160,000 buy at the 2019 Fasig-Tipton Kentucky Summer Yearling sale. She was bred by DocAtty Stables, LLC and is out of Blue Orleans, who is a half-sister to multiple Grade 1 winner Pico Central. Blue Orleans has a yearling full brother to Fifth Risk.
