Improbable kicks off 50th Eclipse Awards as Champion Older Male

Improbable’s brilliant 2020 campaign earned the WinStar colorbearer the Eclipse Award as the Champion Older Male during Thursday evening’s virtual award ceremony.

A three-time Grade 1 winner last year, Improbable captured the Awesome Again S. (G1), Whitney S. (G1), and Gold Cup (G1) for WinStar and co-owners CHC Inc., and SF Racing LLC.

Following his gallant second in the Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1), Improbable was retired to take up stud duty at WinStar in 2021. 

Trained by Hall of Famer Bob Baffert, Improbable also won the CashCall Futurity (G1) and Street Sense S. as part of his undefeated 2-year-old campaign, as well as the Shared Belief S. at three. He retires with a record of 7-4-0 in 15 starts, with earnings of $2,729,520.

Improbable was bred by St. George Farm LLC and G. Watts Humphrey, Jr. and is from the immediate family of noted sire Hard Spun. 

Improbable is standing the 2021 season for $40,000 S&N.
