Journeytothemoon the second debut winner in as many days for Tourist

Tourist got his tenth First-Crop winner Saturday at Laurel Park when the filly Journeytothemoon won her first lifetime start in a six-furlong maiden special weight contest.

The dark bay filly showed great determination through the stretch, coming from about three lengths from the front at the head of the lane to wear down Little Huntress in the final sixteenth, winning by three-quarters of a length.

Journeytothemoon is owned by the partnership of Best A Luck Farm, Cal Lin Racing and Alex Levengood. She was bred in Kentucky by Jory Sherman and Don Blowe and is out of Moon Meeting Too, a half-sister to stakes winners Now It Begins and Nasty Rumor.

Tourist, the Breeders’ Cup-winning son of Tiznow, has now sired winners at nine different racetracks. He is standing the 2021 season at WinStar Farm for $5,000 S&N.
