Keeneland Day 3: $435,000 filly tops day for Super Saver

A beautifully-bred filly by Super Saver out of Grade 1 winner Miss Shop sold for $435,000 during the third day of the Keeneland September Yearling sale.

Cataloged as hip No. 512, the dark bay was consigned by Lane’s End and purchased by top buyer Mike Ryan, agent.

Miss Shop won more than $1.1 million in her career, with victories in the Personal Ensign S. (G1), Rampart H. (G2) and four other stakes. She passed on her talent to her daughter Tin Type Gal, a multiple graded stakes winner on the turf. Miss Shop is also a half-sister to True North H. (G2) winner Trappe Shot.

Through the first three days of the sale, all five lots by Super Saver to sell have brought at least $125,000, with an average sale price of $293,000. The auction runs through Sept. 23, with Super Saver having 56 lots yet to be sold.
