Leading Third-Crop sire Constitution gets 10th stakes winner of the year

Convention came from far off the pace to win the $50,000 Butch Gleason Classic S. on Saturday afternoon, giving Constitution his tenth stakes winner of the year, and a remarkable 29 stakes horses overall in 2021.

Convention won the 1 1/8-mile contest at Arapahoe Park by a head after trailing the field for the first five furlongs. He was still seventh in midstretch, then unleashed a furious rally to give the 3-year-old colt his first stakes victory.

Convention is owned and trained by Greg Lebsock and was bred in Kentucky by WinStar Farm. The colt is the first foal out of Fancy Day (IRE), whose dam Tizdubai won the Sorrento S. (G2) and is a full sister to Horse of the Year and two-time Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1) winner Tiznow.
