Paint Dakota draws off in stretch for comfortable maiden win

Paint Dakota pulled away to a 2 3/4-length maiden win Nov. 17 at Hawthorne in her second lifetime start to become the latest winner from Grade 1 winner Paynter’s first crop of runners.

The 2-year-old bay filly races in the name of Alice Mettler and was bred in Kentucky by Three Lyons Racing LLC. She is the first foal out of Reliquary, whose dam Byzantine was a stakes winner and twice graded stakes-placed and from the family of Grade 1 winner and sire Hampton Court.

Paynter is the sire of three stakes horses thus far from his first crop. His largest and best-bred crop will be 2-year-olds of 2018. His fee for next year at WinStar will be $12,500 stands and nurses.
