Speightstown filly sparkles in $225,000 Princess Elizabeth S.

Bold Script ran away to a 7 1/2-length victory in the Nov. 4 Princess Elizabeth S. at Woodbine, the first stakes win for the 2-year-old Speightstown filly.

The Chiefswood Stable homebred had placed in three previous stakes starts, including the Natalma S. (G1), all on the turf, is now 2-1-2 in five starts and has earned $204,203.

Bold Script is Speightstown’s 16th stakes winner this year, which is fourth among all North American sires.

Bold Script broke well enough and was second behind Malibu Dawn going into the first turn. Content to hold her position through a pedestrian six furlongs in 1:14.41, Bold Script pulled even with Malibu Dawn at that point. With jockey Gary Boulanger looking back for competition, Bold Script powered away from the field to win with complete authority.

“She’s been just a dream filly to train,” said her conditioner Stuart Simon. “These are the kind that you get up early in the morning for and she just does everything right, she always has. She trains over every surface well. I just can’t say enough about her, she’s just a pleasure to have.”

Bold Script is the first foal out of Original Script, winner of the Bison City S. and $363,628.
