Hold Me Back, whose first foals are 3-year-olds of 2015, had a pair of 2-year-old fillies bring six figures during Thursday’s third session of the April 21-24 OBS Spring Sale of 2-year-olds in Training.
Early in the session, hip No. 635, consigned by Top Line Sales LLC, Agent for Small Batch Thoroughbreds, brought a winning bid of $180,000 from Grace Stables LLC. The chestnut filly, who worked a quarter mile in 21 seconds flat at last week’s under tack show, is a half-sister to Jerome S. (G2) runner-up Scotland, out of the unraced Vicar mare Varus.
Cary Frommer consigned hip No. 858, a filly bought for $140,000 by McMahon and Hall Bloodstock. The well-bred chestnut is out of the A.P. Indy mare Ceremonious, whose dam Royal Fair was multiple graded stakes-placed and a stakes winner of nearly $400,000.
