A spectacular G1 and multiple graded stakes winning sprinter, Mullikin is by the leading stallion son of Medaglia d’Oro.
Mullikin’s sire, Violence, has done well over a wide variety of Mr. Prospector line mares. He has a G1W out of a mare by Street Cry as well as SWs out of mares by his sons, Street Sense and Desert Party, which would also encourage considering mares by Street Boss, Street Hero and Street Magician. Violence is out of a mare by Gone West, and crossed back over that line, he has SWs out of mares by Speightstown (sire of Munnings and Central Banker) and Muqtarib. Gone West would also be interesting through Elusive Quality – a close relative to the dam of Mullikin’s broodmare sire, Congrats – who is sire of Quality Road and Great Notion; Grand Slam, sire of Limehouse; Proud Citizen; and Mr. Greeley (sire of El Corredor).
There is a Violence SW out of a mare by Smart Strike, who could be found through Curlin and sons, English Channel (who could fit particularly well here, bringing together Sadler’s Wells and Nureyev), Lookin at Lucky, Dominus and Square Eddie. From the Carson City branch of Mr. Prosector come stakes winners from daughters of City Zip (sire of Bustin Stones and Run Away and Hide) and Cuvee, with other sources being Five Star Day, Good and Tough and Pollard’s Vision. – Alan Porter
