Timberlake

Timberlake is by Into Mischief from a classic family. The Into Mischief cross with mares from the Gone West branch of Mr. Prospector has been extremely successful. The cross with Mr. Greeley supplied a Kentucky Derby and Breeders’ Cup Classic winner; the cross with Speightstown mares is a multiple G1 producing one; and there are GSWs out of mares by Grand Slam and Elusive Quality (notably sire of Quality Road), and BTWs out of mares by Proud Citizen. Into Mischief has sired ten BTWs, including G1Ws, out of mares by Distorted Humor, sire of Maclean’s Music and Jimmy Creed. The cross with mares from the Fappiano branch of Mr. Prospector has done well, including a Champion out of a mare by Unbridled, a Kentucky Derby winner out of a mare by Empire Maker (sire of Pioneerof the Nile and grandsire of American Pharoah, Cairo Prince and Classic Empire) and a G1W out of a mare by Unbridled’s Song. There is also a G1W from a mare by Quiet American. From the Cryptoclearance branch there is an emerging cross with mares by Candy Ride. Timberlake is out of a mare by Lookin At Lucky from the Smart Strike branch of Mr.  Prospector, but crossing back over that line through Curlin might work well. From the Northern Dancer line, we might look to the successful cross of mares from the Danzig line, such as Hard Spun and War Front, and the cross with mares by Medaglia d’Oro and sons Violence and Warrior’s Reward. There is an Into Mischief G1W out of an A.P. Indy mare, a G1W out of a mare by Majestic Warrior, GSWs out of mares by A.P. Indy sons Bernardini, Malibu Moon, Pulpit, Mineshaft, Congrats (brother to Flatter) and 4 BTWs, one G1, out of mares by A.P. Indy grandson, Tapit. The Into Mischief line cross with Tiznow line mares has a multiple GSW out of a mare by Tiznow, a Champion Two-Year-Old Filly out of a mare by Tiz Wonderful and a Kentucky Derby winner out of a mare by Colonel John. – Alan Porter
