Take Charge Indy’s 4-year-old filly Standoutsensation wrapped up her 2025 campaign in style Dec. 26 at Oaklawn Park with a victory in the $150,000 Pippin S.
The dark bay filly has now won her last four starts, including a pair of stakes, and is an outstanding 5-3-0 in nine starts this year. Standoutsensation is one of a half-dozen stakes winners in 2025 for Take Charge Indy, who will stand for $7,500 S&N next year.
Breaking from the outside in the field of six, Standoutsensation was hung three-wide around the first turn, but still managed to move into a close second behind Reagan’s Flame as the field moved onto the backstretch. After a half-mile, Standoutsensation took command with relative ease. Queen Azteca mounted a challenge coming into the stretch, but Standoutsensation held sway in the stretch, winning by 1 ½-lengths.
Now 6-9-1 in 24 lifetime starts, Standoutsensation has earned $660,237 for Richard J. Emmett and Joel Politi. The filly was bred in Kentucky by Edward A. Seltzer, Beverly S. Seltzer & Jamie Frost and hails from the family of Canadian Horse of the Year Alywow.
