Artie Schiller 2yo rolls in turf debut

Blingo looked like another Artie Schiller runner with a  promising turf future after flying home late to win his career bow by 2 1/4-lengths over the Hollywood Park turf course on Nov. 25. Artie Schiller is nearing the top 10 among all second-crop sires with progeny earnings of close to $2.5 million.

Blingo, bred in Kentucky by Ben Walden and B. Ray, came from last in the field of 11 to win drawing away from the competition. The bay juvenile completed the mile in 1:35.84 to earn a very solid 81 Beyer Speed Figure.

Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Moss bought Blingo for $80,000 at the 2010 Keeneland September yearling sale. He is out of the stakes-placed mare Wassifa (GB), who has also produced the stakes winner Market’s Best.
