First foal arrives for MGSW Hold Me Back

Multiple graded stakes winner Hold Me Back sired his first reported foal on Jan. 23 when a chestnut filly was born at WinStar Farm in Versailles, KY.

WinStar, which stands Hold Me Back, bred the filly from the A.P. Indy mare All Sevens, a daughter of a stakes-winning sister to Canadian Triple Crown winner Wando. To see video of Hold Me Back’s first foal, visit WinStarStableMates.com or click here.

Hold Me Back was a multiple Grade 1-placed three-year-old who scored his biggest win in $500,000 Lane’s End S. on the Derby trail. The grand-looking son of Giant’s Causeway was also runner-up in the Blue Grass S. (G1) and Travers S. (G1) at three, and he went on to win the Dominion Day S. (G3) as a four-year-old.

With career earnings of $872,610, Hold Me Back retired to WinStar in 2011 and bred 100 mares in his first season at stud. He is out of the multiple stakes-producing Unbridled’s Song mare Restraint and hails from the family of Tom Fool.

Hold Me Back will stand in 2012 for a fee of $6,000 stands and nurses.
