Portion of Vinceremos’s earnings to be donated to his charitable namesake

WinStar Farm and Twin Creeks Racing, owners of Triple Crown hopeful Vinceremos, will donate a portion of the colt’s earnings from every race through the 2014 Triple Crown to the Vinceremos Therapeutic Riding Center, a Florida-based charity and the namesake of the leading 3-year-old. It begins this Saturday when Vinceremos, the horse, goes to post as one of the favorites in the $350,000 Tampa Bay Derby (G2) at Tampa Bay Downs.

“The Vinceremos Therapeutic Riding Center is a fantastic charitable organization that enriches the lives of so many with disabilities, and they do so through the majesty of horses,” said Elliott Walden, WinStar’s President & CEO. “We have always liked this colt since we purchased him, and we wanted to pay tribute to our friends at the Vinceremos Therapeutic Riding Center with the name, hoping that we would be in the position we are now. The hope is that we can raise both money and awareness over the course of the next few months.”

Vinceremos, the horse, has won his last two races which includes a breakthrough victory in last month’s Sam F. Davis S. (G3), the main local prep for the Tampa Bay Derby. Trained by Todd Pletcher for WinStar and Twin Creeks, the promising young son of WinStar stallion Pioneerof the Nile has earned $153,600 to date.
