Audible colt fetches $575,000 at KEESEPT

A colt (Hip 946) from the first crop of Florida Derby (G1) winner Audible made noise on the second day of Book 2 at the Keeneland September Sale on Thursday, Sept. 15, selling to Three Chimneys Farm for $575,000.

Consigned by Blandford Stud, the colt is produced from the Bluegrass Cat mare Catticus and is a half- brother to Grade 3 winner Bob’s Edge, an earner of $544,945, and stakes winner Watch Me Burn. Bred by Westwind Farms, the dark bay or brown colt hails from the family of Grade 3 winner Restrainedvengence and his second dam is multiple stakes winner Cupids Revenge.

In addition to the $575,000 colt, Audible also saw first-crop yearlings at Keeneland September sell for up to $390,000, $300,000, etc. The No. 2-ranked Freshman Weanling Sire by average last year—$103,813—with 16 six-figure weanlings a year ago, Audible boasts a Keeneland September sale average of $236,786 through Book 2.

One of the most consistent 3-year-olds of his generation, Audible sold for $500,000 at the Fasig-Tipton March Select Sale. By perennial leading sire Into Mischief, Audible, who represents a complete outcross in his first five generations, has a deep female family that traces directly to multiple Grade
