WinStar Farm’s first-crop yearling sire Nashville was once again well received at public auction, with four of his six progeny bringing six-figure sums at the Fasig-Tipton New York-Bred Yearling Sale on Monday-Tuesday. Nashville ranks sixth amongst freshman yearling sires in median sales, which now stand at $140,000.
Nashville’s highest price came on the second day of the sale with the WinStar-Bred and Raised colt out of multiple Graded stakes-winner Jojo Warrior (Hip 576) selling for $215,000 to MEG Racing. Consigned by Taylor Made Sales Agency, the colt is a three-quarters sibling to stakes-winner Impulse Buy.
Lucky Hat Racing went to $200,000 for Hip 343 — a Nashville filly out of the Liam’s Map mare Pythoness consigned by Taylor Made Sales Agency. The filly was Nashville’s second $200,000 purchase this year, after his colt out of Lil Vie was purchased by agent Ben Gowans at the Fasig-Tipton July Sale.
Other notable Nashville yearlings at the sale included a colt out of Interlace (Hip 572) bought for $185,000 by Seth Morris, agent for Sabby Racing. The colt’s third dam is multiple Grade 1-winner and Graded stakes producer Flute. Hip 424, a colt out of Warrior’s Promise, was sold to Horseology for $140,000.
