Crevalle d’Oro surged past Movin’ On Up in the final strides to win the $150,000 Suwanee River S. Saturday at Gulfstream Park, giving the 4-year-old daughter of Constitution her first stakes win.
Crevalle d’Oro, who was graded stakes-placed in last year’s Selene S. (G3), is the 11th stakes winner this year for top-six General Sire Constitution. The WinStar stallion, who will stand for $110,000 S&N in 2026, has 79 lifetime stakes winners.
After getting pinched back soon after the start of Saturday’s one-mile turf race, Crevalle d’Oro found herself mid-pack and under a light hold through the first half mile. She moved up to fourth going into the final turn, then just before entering the stretch, moved three-wide for clear running. After straightening for home, she steadily cut into Movin’ On Up’s lead, getting by in deep stretch to win by a head in a swift 1:32.31 over the firm turf.
The winner is owned by TCC Stables LLC, Michael & Jules Iavarone and was bred in Kentucky by Sandra Sexton. Saturday’s win upped the dark bay filly’s record to 5-4-2 in 19 starts, with earnings of $415,144.
