Carpe Diem colt brings $425,000 Thursday at Keeneland

Book 1 of the 2018 Keeneland September Yearling sale closed on Thursday with another very solid day for First-Crop sire Carpe Diem, topped by a $425,000 colt going to Alex and JoAnn Lieblong.

Taylor Made Sales Agency consigned the colt, hip No. 837. The chestnut juvenile is out of the stakes-placed Devious d’Oro, a half-sister to graded stakes winner Devious Intent.

Carpe Diem had a total of 10 individuals sell during the first book for an average of $293,500, nearly 12 times his stud fee.
