Constitution’s first Keeneland yearling brings $400,000

Constitution’s much-anticipated first crop of yearlings hit a high water mark during Monday’s first session of the Sept. 10-23 Keeneland Yearling sale when his first offering sold for $400,000.

Mt. Brilliant Farm consigned the bay colt, hip No. 57, which went to Twin Creeks Racing. The beautifully-bred son of the stakes-placed Ithinkisawapudycat is a half-brother to Spinaway S. (G1) winner Sweet Loretta, while is dam is a half-sister to Canadian champion 2-year-old filly Spring in the Air.

Constitution, who was bred to 315 mares in 2016-17, has a total of 69 lots in this year’s Keeneland catalog.
