Audible filly extends winning streak in $100,000 Maddie May S.

My Mane Squeeze made it three stakes wins in a row Sunday at Aqueduct with a dominating performance in the $100,000 Maddie May S., romping by 4 ¾-lengths.

The 3-year-old Audible filly won the Franklin Square S. over the same track a month ago, and closed out her 2-year-old campaign on Oct. 29 with a victory in the Maid of the Mist S., also at Aqueduct.

Drawing the outside post in the field of 10 for Sunday’s one-mile contest, My Mane Squeeze rated nicely in third for five furlongs before being sent after the pacesetter Landed. After a brief tussle, My Mane Squeeze asserted herself and drew off with authority to win handily.

“When you’ve got a 3-5 shot, my belly is churning,” said owner and breeder William “Buck” Butler. “When she took the lead there and started to spread out a little bit, I started to get real comfortable. I think I was hugging my wife [Loretta] by the time the finish line came up. I’m thrilled.”

My Mane Squeeze now has four wins and two thirds in six lifetime starts, with earnings of $293,960. Out of In Spite of Mama, she is a half-sister to the five-time stakes winner Rotknee.

Audible has gotten off to a terrific start in 2024 and leads the Second-Crop sire list by earnings, black type winners, graded stakes winners and winners. He is standing this year for $15,000 S&N.
