WinStar Farm’s Top 5 general sire Constitution had two yearling colts each bring $1 million on the first day of the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Yearling Sale.
Hip 97, a bay colt out of the Medaglia d’Oro mare Foolish Living, was acquired by Pedro Lanz, agent for KAS Stables, from the consignment of Warrendale Sales. The dam is a full-sister to dual Graded stakes-placed Ballet Dancing, whose son Untreated also was multiple Graded stakes-placed.
Hip 109, the last horse to go through the ring on the first night, concluded the first session with a bang with his $1 million sum as one of a dozen yearlings purchased by Repole Stable. The bay colt is out of the half-sister to 2022 Horse of the Year Flightline, Good On Paper (by War Front). He was consigned by Lane’s End.
Also bought by Repole from Lane’s End was a Constitution filly out of the Grade 1-winning Quality Road mare Salty. Listed as Hip 193, she brought $500,000 in the ring. Other results for Constitution included colts that sold for $550,000, $525,000, etc.
