Good Samaritan filly zips to 7 ¾-length maiden win

Nice Neighbor turned in a stellar effort in her Saturday night debut at Remington Park, rolling to a 7 ¾-length maiden special weight win at first asking (WATCH RACE).

The 2-year-old filly is the tenth winner from Good Samaritan’s first crop. The WinStar stallion recently accounted for his first stakes horse when Coffee Caliente placed in the Shakopee Juvenile S. Good Samaritan will have a chance to add to his stakes tally when Suburban Prince goes postward in the Zuma Beach S. (G3) at Santa Anita Park.

After an awkward break, Nice Neighbor quickly recovered and took the lead in the first furlong. She led the way through a quarter-mile in :22.87 and a half in :47.22. Coming into the stretch, she began to draw away from the field with ease and was all alone and was eased up under the wire.

Nice Neighbor races for the Highlander Training Center and was bred by Amy Marie Bayle. She is the first foal out of Whataclassylady.
