Life Is Good continues first year momentum at Keeneland September; Constitution sires Book 1 million-dollar yearling

Following a strong Fasig-Tipton Saratoga, first-crop yearling sire Life Is Good’s presence at the 2025 Keeneland September Yearling Sale was felt through multiple high-sum purchases through Book 1 on Monday and Tuesday.

Through the first book of the sale, Life Is Good had six yearlings sell for a half-million or more. On Day 1, Epic Horses and agent Shannon Potter went to $725,000 for a three-quarter sibling to Grade 1-winner Newgate, listed as Hip 30. The bay filly is out of the Majestic Warrior mare Majestic Presence, who also produced Graded stakes winner Denim and Pearls. She was consigned by Taylor Made Sales Agency.

Life Is Good is garnering attention from international buyers as Japan’s Shadai Farm purchased a filly out of Just Angelic for $700,000 on the second day of the sale. Listed as Hip 370, the bay filly possesses a strong European-influenced pedigree, coming from the same family as Group 1 winners Harry Angel and Supremacy.

Other noteworthy buys for Life Is Good include a filly out of the Grade 1-placed Malibu Moon mare Maya Malibu that was sold to JS Company, Limited for $550,000, as well as a trio of colts that were each sold for $500,000.

Elsewhere, elite sire Constitution sired a $1 million purchase on Day 1 that went to trainer Wesley Ward.

Listed as Hip 160, the bay colt out of the stakes-placed Super Saver mare Super Tigress was consigned by Taylor Made Sales Agency, and comes from the same family as European Champion Hold That Tiger and American Classic winner Editor’s Note.

Also by Constitution, a colt out of the War Front mare Bloody Point — a half-sister to leading second-crop sire Vekoma — went to CHC, Inc., Maverick Racing, and First Go Racing for $825,000. The same group went to $675,000 for a colt out of the stakes-placed Quality Road mare Havana Dream.
