The offspring of WinStar Farm’s highly-regarded freshman sire of yearlings Life Is Good continued to turn heads at the Fasig-Tiption October Sale. He had the highest-priced first-crop yearling throughout the entire four-day sale, when his dark bay colt out the Graded stakes-placed Shippy was bought for $500,000 on Day 2 of the sale.
Consigned by Hill ‘n’ Sale at Xalapa and bred by St. Elias Stables, the colt (Hip 576) was one of three yearlings acquired by OGMA Investments at the sale. The colt is a half-brother to Master Mule, who broke his maiden at Horseshoe Indianapolis by 6 ¾ lengths in May 2025. His fourth dam Twang is a half-sister to the dam of multiple Grade 1-winner Wild Rush.
Other Life Is Good yearlings to go through the Fasig-Tipton October sales ring include a half-sister to G1-winner Maxim Rate that went to bloodstock agent Mike Ryan for $310,000, as well as a filly out of the Black-type winning Munnings mare Pleaser Flatter Me that sold for $290,000 to Fergus Galvin, agent for Jose D’Angelo.
Through the 2025 yearling sales, Life Is Good has averaged $314,150 ranking second amongst sires in his class. He and Flightline are the only two freshman sires with a seven-figure acquisition at both Fasig-Tipton Saratoga and Keeneland September.
