My Mane Squeeze crushes foes in Saratoga’s Johnstone S.

Audible’s top-class filly My Mane Squeeze chalked up her sixth career stakes win July 30 at Saratoga with an overwhelming performance in the $150,000 Johnstone S.

The 4-year-old filly, who has earned more than $1.2 million, is Audible’s lifetime leading earner. The WinStar stallion is currently fifth on this year’s Third-Crop sire list with over $4 million in progeny earnings.

My Mane Squeeze, who has been facing graded stakes company for the past 18 months, was clearly the class of the field in the seven-furlong race for fillies and mares. After breaking in front, she was in control the entire trip. She opened up a two-length lead after a half-mile and went on from there, widening to 6 ¼-lengths at the wire.

Her final time of 1:22.66 on a fast track earned a lifetime-best Beyer Speed Figure of 100.

“The pace in the race scratched and she’s laid fairly close in some of her other races, but I just left it up to Luis [Saez] to see how it played out when they broke,” said winning trainer Michael Maker. “I thought it was a good performance and resembled our old ‘Mane Squeeze.’”

My Mane Squeeze, whose biggest wins to date have come in the Eight Belles S. (G2) and Dogwood S. (G3), is now 7-2-5 in 17 starts. She is owned by William Bulter (also her breeder) and WinStar Farm LLC.
