Drosselmeyer "Lucky Shoes" winner announced
Monday, July 26, 2010
WinStar Farm is pleased to announce the winner of its unique "Shoes Contest" in honor of 2010 Belmont Stakes Winner and WinStar Farm’s DROSSELMEYER. The winning contestant was randomly selected out of the thousands of thoroughbred fans who entered the contest.

The winning fan, Kim Magan of Orofino, Idaho not only gets the distinction of getting one of Drosselmeyer’s classic shoes he raced in to victory in the Belmont, but she gets it handsomely framed with other bits of memorabilia from the Belmont Stakes race, including the official Belmont Stakes program autographed by winning jockey Mike Smith. Kim is currently in nursing school, and has been a barrel racer for most of her life. Her husband is a farrier, so winning this particular contest is especially for the entire Magan family.

According to Doug Cauthen, President of WinStar Farm: “This contest allowed our growing community of racing fans to try their luck at winning this very unique classic shoe, and gain a significant piece of thoroughbred history. Drosselmeyer, even before he won the Belmont Stakes, was one of our favorite racing colts.”

WinStar Farm’s Director of Racing, Elliott Walden, added: “Winning the Belmont with Drosselmeyer on the heels of winning the Derby with Super Saver, along with hearing from all of our fans, made this a special contest for us to share some of that post-race excitement.”

“We look forward to bringing more fun and interesting interactive events to horse racing fans – it sure has been a lot of fun for us at WinStar!,” stated Cauthen. Fans presently can play the Daily Pick 5 contest at http://Derby.WinStarFarm.com <http://derby.winstarfarm.com/>
