Fed Biz colt snagged for $230,000 at KEENOV

A dark bay colt from the first crop of track record-setter Fed Biz sold for $230,000 to K. D. Bloodstock during Friday’s session of the Keeneland November sale.

The weanling colt, hip No. 1180, was consigned by Mill Ridge Sales, agent. The Kentucky-bred is out of the four-time stakes-winning Northern Afleet mare Cash’s Girl, whose three runners include Grade 2-placed Name Changer. The deep female family traces to third dam Maggy Hawk, dam of champion 3-year-old colt and multiple classic winner Afleet Alex.

Fed Biz also was responsible for a $160,000 filly during the second session of the Nov. 8-20 sale. The filly, hip No. 346, was sold by Mill Ridge as well, and went to Clear Ridge. Her dam Wild Summer is a sister to graded stakes winners Lewis Bay, Misconnect and Winslow Homer.

Fed Biz, who bred 275 mares the past two seasons, will stand for $10,000 stands and nurses in 2017.
