$180K for U S Ranger Keeneland yearling

A yearling colt sired by U S Ranger brought a winning bid of $180,000 at the Keeneland September sale, the highest price paid for a yearling in 2012 from the first crop of the WinStar stallion. U S Ranger, by Danzig, was a two-time in Ireland and was undefeated at age two.

Hip No. 1780 was consigned by St. George Sales, agent, with the Siegels’ Jay Em Ess Stables the winning bidder. The Kentucky-bred colt is a half-brother to Gary D, who tied the six furlong track record while winnning the $300,000 OBS Sprint S.
