Cash Control gets the money in Fair Grounds Daisy Devine S.

Pioneerof the Nile’s Cash Control collected her seventh win in 12 lifetime starts in the $60,000 Daisy Devine S. at Fair Grounds’ Race Course.

The winner, a 5-year-old Bert and Richard Klein homebred, won the Tiffany Lass S. over the same course in December, and now has banked a total of $245,700.

The 1 1/16-mile turf contest turned into a two-horse race early on, with Cash Control trailing Mizz Money by a length for five furlongs before moving up to engage the pacesetter. The pair dueled the length of the stretch before Cash Control prevailed by a head in 1:43.12.

“She ran a really nice race,” said winning rider Shaun Bridgmohan. “She was very comfortable and when I squeezed on her at the quarter pole she gave me what she had and ran very hard. She’s a fighter.”

Cash Control is out of the Grade 3 winner Hidden Assets, who has produced five stakes winners.
