Rivertown Belle splashes to Hoosier SW

Rivertown Belle reaffirmed her affinity for the Indiana Downs surface on Saturday as the 3-year-old daughter of Bellamy Road skipped to a 3 1/4-length win in the $85,000 Hoosier Breeders’ Sophomore S (VIDEO). The dark bay filly captured the $153,000 First Lady over the same surface in mid-July.

Rivertown Belle was in the mix right from the outset of the 1 1/16-mile contest, sitting in second for the first five furlongs before assuming the lead on the final turn. The Robert Gorham trainee drew away without being seriously threatened in the stretch.

Bred by Deann and Greg Baer, Rivertown Belle is now 4-2-0 in 10 starts, earning $202,132 for Mast Thoroughbreds. Rivertown Belle is out of Sweet Magie, who is a half-sister to Hall of Famer Holy Bull.
