Street Hero’s Azarenka takes G1 Peru Classic

Street Hero got his first Grade 1 winner of 2013 on June 23, when Azarenka rolled to a 2 3/4-length score over colts in the Jockey Club del Peru Classic (G1) at the Hippodrome of Monterrico.

Second-crop sire Street Hero, who stands at WinStar Farm for $5,000 LFS&N, is represented by six stakes horses in his first crop, including 2013 Calder Oaks winner Street Girl.

Three-year-old Azarenka took the 2,400 meter (about 1 1/2-mile) contest for horses of all ages coming from last early to win going away. Bred in Kentucky and owned by Papo’s Stud, Azarenka has won four of six starts and earned $178,573.
