Grade 1 winner Audible got off to a terrific start during Tuesday’s first session of the OBS Spring 2-year-old sale when hip No. 112 attracted a top bid of $425,000.
Consigned by Eddie Woods, agent, the dark bay colt was purchased by Steve Young, agent.
The juvenile was bred by Machmer Hall and is the first foal out of the Super Saver mare Syllable, who is a half-sister to stakes winner Telekinesis. The subject’s third dam is $1.5 million earning Gold Mover.
Audible had the second-highest Freshman Yearling average in 2022. Winner of the Florida Derby (G1) and third in the Kentucky Derby (G1), Audible covered over 550 mares in his first three seasons. His 2023 fee is $25,000 S&N.
Audible has 11 lots in the remaining two days of the sale.
