Saturday marked the third day in a row Audible tallied a maiden special weight winner at Saratoga when Life’s an Audible showed a very impressive late move to win the opening race on the card.
Audible now has six maiden winners and is ranked sixth on the First-Crop sire list. He also earned his second stakes horse on Saturday when Work Hard ran second the $125,000 Jamestown S. at Colonial Downs.
Life’s an Audible, who sold to Mike Repole for $200,000 a the OBS March 2-year-old sale, was several lengths off the lead for the first half of the 5 ½-furlong turf race. She came six wide into the stretch and shot to the lead inside the final furlong, winning by 1 ¼-lengths under a hand ride.
“Shortening up from an off-the-turf race; got some experience in there,” trainer Todd Pletcher said of the filly’s first outing on the dirt at one mile. “They went pretty fast early. She got out-footed a little bit in the beginning but picked it up nicely around the turn came with a good run down the lane.”
The chestnut filly was bred in Kentucky by Susan Moulton. Life’s an Audible is the first foal out of Catkins, whose siblings include graded stakes winners Uncontested and Solitary Ranger.
