Life’s an Audible unleashed a powerful stretch run to win a three-horse photo in Saturday’s $175,000 Sweetest Chant S. (G3) at Gulfstream Park.

The victory marked the first stakes win for the 3-year-old Audible filly, who previously had finished second in both last month’s Ginger Brew S. at Gulfstream and the Miss Grillo S. (G2) in October at Aqueduct.

Owned by Repole Stable, the $200,000 OBS March 2023 sales grad was second-last in the field of eight through the first six furlongs of the 1 1/16-mile turf affair. Jockey Irad Ortiz, Jr. guided the chestnut filly to the outside with three furlongs to run and came six-wide into the stretch.

Full of run in the lane, Life’s an Audible caught Style Points in the final sixteenth to win by a neck in 1:39.36 on the firm turf.

“I thought it was great,” said winning trainer Todd Pletcher. “It seems like she’s kind of found her groove just wanting to settle and make a late run. She really delivered a good turn of foot.”

The winner’s record now stands at 2-2-0 in six starts, with earnings of $243,045.

Life’s an Audible, the first graded stakes winner for Audible, was bred in Kentucky by Susan Moulton. The filly is the first foal out of Catkins, whose siblings include graded stakes winners Uncontested and Solitary Ranger. Audible also has three black-type winners and five additional stakes performers from his first crop.
