Nice Neighbor held off a challenge in deep stretch to earn her first black type win in the Dec. 15 Useeit S. at Remington Park.
The 3-year-old filly is the six stakes winner of the year for Good Samaritan, who has more than a dozen stakes horses worldwide in 2023. A top-10 Second-Crop sire this term, Good Samaritan’s progeny have banked $3.8 million to date.
Nice Neighbor, who was second in both of her two prior stakes outings, got the job done on Friday evening over a sloppy racetrack. She broke very well from her outside post in the field of eight and was second through the first half-mile. She put herself in front with three furlongs to run, then held off Swingin’ Okie to win by three-quarters of a length [WATCH RACE].
Owned by the Highland Training Center, Nice Neighbor is now 4-3-2 in nine starts and has earned $147,991. She was bred by Amy Marie Bayle.
