Waggley scored an emphatic 4 ¾-length victory in the $100,000 Prairie Gold Juvenile S. July 11 at Prairie Meadows, the second time in a row the 2-year-old Life Is Good filly has defeated males in a stakes race.
After breaking her maiden in her April 8 debut at Keeneland, where she was named a TDN Rising Star, Waggley won the Kentucky Juvenile S. against open company. Now undefeated in three starts, she has earned $267,205.
After rocketing out of the gate from post 9, Waggley immediately took control of the pace. Under a snug hold around the turn, she got the half-mile in :45.94 and was under no threat as she hit the top of the stretch. The margin widened with each stride down the stretch as she cantered under the wire well ahead of the field [WATCH RACE].
Waggley is owned by Ten Broeck Farm, Inc and was bred in Kentucky by Fred Hetrich III and John Fielding. The bay filly sold to her owners for $200,000 at the 2025 Keeneland September sale.
With five winners and winners of seven races, Life Is Good leads this year’s First-Crop sire list. He stood this year at WinStar Farm for $60,000 S&N.
