Nutsie wins Saratoga MdSpWt debut for Top-5 Freshman sire Exaggerator

Nutsie drew off in the final furlong of the Saratoga stretch to win his Aug. 13 debut by two lengths in a 5 1/2-furlong maiden special weight for 2-year-olds.

Exaggerator has five juvenile winners, tied for first on the Freshman sire list, and is third by progeny earnings. The WinStar stallion got his first stakes horse on Aug. 9 when Perfect Mistake placed in the $100,000 Juvenile S. at Ellis Park.

Nutsie, owned by Ivery Sisters Racing and DJC Racing Stables, was behind horses for the first quarter-mile, then swung three-wide coming into the stretch to take command. He outfooted Malibu Luna to get the distance in 1:05.09.

The winner was bred in Kentucky by White Fox Farm and is the latest of five winners out of the stakes winner Special Dream.
