Bright Town is SW #66 for Speightstown

Speightstown sired his fourth stakes winner of 2015 when Bright Town wired her field in the 6 1/2-furlong El Diario S. on Feb. 7 at Sunland Park.
 
The victory is especially noteworthy as the 66th career stakes winner and 64th blacktype winner for Speightstown, who leads all stallions in his siring crop – including Tapit and Medaglia d’Oro – by number of blacktype winners.
 
In winning the El Diario, Bright Town remained undefeated in three tries at 6 1/2 furlongs, posting an average victory margin of nearly 5 1/2 lengths. She also has a victory at a mile, and stakes-placings at six and 7 1/2 furlongs.
 
Bred in Kentucky by Lochlow Farm, Bright Town races for Tricar Stables and is trained by Sal Gonzalez. She is the first stakes winner for her dam, Deputy Minister’s winning daughter Brite Diamond. Newly-turned 5-year-old Bright Town has amassed a record of 13-4-2-2 and earnings of $96,338.
