Distorted Humor 2YO wins Central Park S. in stakes debut

Five Star General led all the way in the $100, 000 Central Park S. on Thanksgiving Day at Aqueduct in the stakes debut for the 2-year-old Distorted Humor colt, ultimately winning by 1 1/2-lengths in just his third lifetime start.

Owned by WinStar Farm, China Horse Club and SF Racing LLC, Five Star General has won two of three starts and has banked $78,050. Also bred by WinStar, Five Star General is the second foal out of Party of Interest, who is a half-sister to four-time graded stakes winner Criminologist.

Five Star General, coming off a convincing four-length maiden win, broke on top on Thursday and never looked back, opening up by as much as four lengths before easing up late to win comfortably.

“The question mark was the fast track because he ran very well and very efficiently on the sealed track the last time,” said trainer Arnaud Delacour. “I wanted to see him run well on the fast track, and he did today. Obviously, it worked out. He has tactical speed and that’s probably a weapon of his.”

With $6.8 million in progeny earnings to date in 2018, Distorted Humor has accounted for 15 stakes winners and eight graded winners, topped by Alcibiades S. (G1) winner Restless Rider.
